The Wisconsin Statewide Transition Initiative (WSTI) is collaborating with the Regional Service Network (RSN) to assist educators with the understanding and implementation of Summary of Performance.

Fee: $35.00 per person

This professional development opportunity will provide participants with the following information:

  1. Understanding the "who what, when, and why" of the SoP
  2. Review of the findings of SoP surveys completed by school districts, DVR liaisons, ADRC directors, and postsecondary education disability services staff
  3. New information that is helpful for disability determination
  4. New effective practice SoP forms
  5. Examples of SoPs for various disabilities
  6. SoP checklist to review SoPs - - please bring SoPs to review with the checklist in the afternoon
  7. Discussion of the impact of Common Core Standards and the new SLD criteria on SoP development and content

Teacher Standards
WES4The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strategies, including the use of technology to encourage children’s development of critical thinking, problem solving, and performance skills.
WES8The teacher understands and uses formal and informal assessment strategies to evaluate and ensure the continuous intellectual, social, and physical development of the pupil.
WES9The teacher is a reflective practitioner who continually evaluates the effect of his or her choices and actions on pupils, parents, professionals in the learning community and others and who actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally.
Administrator Standards
WAS1The administrator has an understanding of and demonstrates competence in the teacher standards under s. PI 34.02.
WAS2The administrator leads by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared by the school community.

CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee.
