Day 1: This session will help teams establish a seamless system of support from Tier 1/Universal to Tier 2/Secondary Levels of Intervention. Each team will learn how to use their Tier 1/Universal data to target groups of students in need of Tier 2/Secondary Levels of Support. Investigating a continuum for Tier2/Secondary Interventions to support the behavior of students who are not responding to Tier 1/Universal Interventions will take place and who are at-risk for behavior and academic failure, including those with disabilities will be covered.

Day 2: This session will help teams to create a continuum of simple Tier 2/Secondary Interventions. Participants will learn how to implement Check-In/Check-Out, Social/Academic Instruction Groups and Mentoring (Check-N-Connect).

PREREQUISITE: U100, U200, UTA300 and fidelity on one of the survey tools from the PBIS Network

Teams should bring: 

Day 1: Tier 1/Universal data in “Big 5” format (time of day, location, type of behavior, consequence, per individual student), list of all group interventions currently in place in your school, recommended resource-Responding to Problem Behavior in Schools: the Behavior Education Program by Crone, Horner, Hawken

Day 2: Tier 1 Universal data in “Big 5” format (time of day , locations, type of behavior, consequence, individual student), Tier 1/Universal data for 1-3 students who seem to need more than simple Tier2/Secondary Interventions (behavior data: OSS, ISS, time-outs, attendance, SWIS graphs, time of day, location, type of behavior, consequence: academic data: grades, DIBELS, etc), list of any group interventions currently in place in your school, recommended resource-Responding

Cost is per Building Team

Your registration costs will indicate $0 due, after your entire team has registered, CESA #4 will adjust Payment Due based on the number of building teams registered for your school district. One person per team will be billed the entire amount due.

$2200 per Building Team for first 2 teams from a School District for the training series (Limit of 6-8 per Building Team)

$2000 per additional team; (Limit of 6-8 per Building Team)

(Additional fee of $250 each applies if sending more than 8 per building team)

Fee is waived if your team took the April 12, 2012 Tier II Day 1 training at CESA #4

After you register, Payment Due will be edited based on the number of building teams registered for your school district.  One person per team will be billed the entire amount due.

About the Presenter:  Kent Smith is a district social worker for the Eau Claire Area School District. He is the Eau Claire District PBIS Coordinator, Coordinator for the West-Central Wisconsin PBIS Coalition (group of 9 other districts), and Wisconsin PBIS Network Trainer for the Tier I and II levels. Kent served as a building coach at an elementary school. He currently serves on three elementary PBIS teams as their social worker and has served on several pilot wrap-around teams. He has trained teams from CESA 2,4,9,10 and 11, has pre-sented at the Wisconsin RtI Summit, the Wisconsin State Superintendent's Conference, Wisconsin Coach Institute, WI PBIS Network/CREATE conference, and along with his co-trainer, presented on PBIS and Dis-proportionate Representation at the WCASS Confer-ence and at the National PBIS Conference in Chicago hosted by the Illinois PBIS Network. In Kent's past life he was a child abuse investigator and an in-home family therapist.

Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.


Dietary Restrictions: Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.


Weather Conditions: If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.


Additional Accommodations: If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
