In accordance with Act 30, requiring Holocaust and Genocide be taught in grades 5-12, the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center (HERC) is partnering with the Department of Public Instruction to provide educators with the tools they need. During this one-day session teachers will explore resources from leaders in Holocaust and Genocide Education and get hands on help as they incorporate this history into their curriculum.
Objectives: Learn the details of the Act 30 mandate; explore frameworks for teaching Holocaust & Genocide Education; discuss methodology.
Participants should bring a laptop or tablet.
Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
