April 4, 2024 | 3:45 PM - 4:30 PM

Policies and procedures around suspensions seem to vary among districts.

This workshop will cover up-to-date information regarding the best practice use of suspensions/expulsions and important considerations for changing behavior, review of best-practice when considering procedures to support behavior changes, and identify some of the main reasons there are suspensions in our region along with sharing possiblealternative approaches to those situations.

This workshop is appropriate for any school staff involved in policy and procedure decisions around discipline as well as staff who would be involved in supporting students who are struggling with expected behaviors. This is a virtual workshop and will be recorded and shared with those who register. There will be two follow-up sessions available for those who register for the main workshop.  Follow-up sessions will include support for action steps, Q/A along with networking opportunities, and additional resources based on participant questions and requests.
