We invite you to spend the day:
Monica Treptow from DPI will lead a keynote session including current conversations surrounding the use of Common School Funds in connection with library planning, book challenges, and Act 20, as well as other updates, including potential impacts of Generative AI on the future of library programming. This session will feature learning, collaboration, and work time.
Other school library-related updates from DPI will also be shared.

Ed Camp-style Breakout sessions will be chosen by educators and may include (but are not limited to): Additional AI-related topics from keynote in more depth, Other AI topics of interest, Digital media literacy, AASL & ISTE Standards, School library advocacy, Library planning, STEAM/STEM, How to spend increased CSF distributions
And Be Brave and pitch a session!

Cost: $25, this covers the cost for the session and lunch

This session is included for no additional fee for those enrolled in CESA 2's LMS Network. There is no need to register.

About the Presenter:

Kim Stieber-White joins CESA 2 with deep knowledge and experience in Social Justice, Technology and Literacy.  Her experience in schools spans urban, suburban, and rural settings and includes classroom English Language Arts, Reading Specialist, Library Media Specialist, Technology Integrator, and Instructional Coach.  Kim is in the process of completing a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis with a focus on Literacy and Equity.  

 

 

 

 

Beth ClarkeBeth Clarke is an innovative educator with over 25 years of experience who is an advocate to ignite the learning experience.  Her passion lies in learner-centered pedagogy while partnering with educators to leverage digital tools and resources. Currently, Beth’s role is the Senior Director of the Digital Leadership and Learning Center at CESA 2 where she has the opportunity to support educators across southern WI.  Also, Beth facilitates the integration of Universal Design for Learning to promote conditions for inclusive education, the New Teacher Mentor program to support educator induction and sustainability, as well as the ISTE Educator Certification program which builds modern educators world-wide.  Most importantly, equity is a priority in every facet of her work.

 

 

 

Frank Devereaux is an Innovative Deeper Learning Designer from the Madison area and works as a consultant for CESA 2 in the Digital Leadership and Learning Center of Excellence. His experience centers on the integration of technology in creative and innovative ways to support student learning in the classroom. Over the past few years, he has been diving into the realm of AI integration, inclusivity, and equity in STEAM curriculum, and Design Thinking Projects for the Makerspace that are culturally relevant.

 

 

 

 


Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a refund if they cancel prior to 3 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Cancellations must either be made on MyQuickReg or by emailing cancel@cesa2.org. Because of our commitment to the presenter and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 3 working days prior to the event or who do not attend the event, will be billed the full fee. CESA 2 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via phone and email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. 

Inclement Weather Policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 2 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been cancelled due to weather conditions.

In-Person Events: Restrictions on our in-person events due to COVID-19 have been lifted. We will be responsive to what's happening within our communities, and guidelines from the CDC and local health agencies for future offerings and will update guidelines when necessary.
