Adding SkillsUSA CTSO for 2024-25 (Virtual)

January 24, 2024

3:45 PM - 4:45 PM

Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) are a basic component of career and technical education programs that support and enhance related school-based and work-based learning. Found in middle, junior, and senior high schools throughout Wisconsin, CTSOs provide students with skills and knowledge to succeed in the new global economy.

Wisconsin recognizes 6 different CTSO's: DECA, FCCLA, HOSA, FBLA, FFA, and SkillsUSA. This fall, CESA's reviewed data across the state regarding the number of chapters that exist for each of these CTSO's and found that our region has very few chapters compared to the rest of the state leaving our students with limited opportunities in these areas to engage in the events, competitions and learning that come from these extracurricular academic organizations.

We are on a mission to help all 17 of our school districts add the CTSO SkillsUSA for the 2024-25 school year or enhance a chapter that already exists in districts. Join us along with Wisconsins Secondary SkillsUSA State Director, Jake Mihm to learn step by step what it takes to add a SkillsUSA chapter to your district, and let us help you troubleshoot any historical barriers that have prevented your district from launching this CTSO.
