LETRS Training

LETRS provides deep knowledge of the Science of Reading to prepare teachers to develop a comprehensive literacy program. This is designed for classroom teachers, teachers with their 316 license, special education teachers, and English Learner instructors. LETRS training for teachers is one of the required approved trainings for Act 20 compliance. In-person sessions will be followed with module completion and application with Bridge to Practice and Google classroom in the fall and must be completed for a certificate of completion.

Learning Outcomes:

• Participants in LETRS Volume 2 will be able to explain the Language Comprehension strands of Scarborough's Reading Rope mode.
• Participants will be able to teach and assess students' knowledge of the sounds in the English language (phonetics).
• Participants will be able to use strategies to teach and assess vocabulary awareness.
• Participants will be able to apply knowledge to use strategies to teach and assess language and reading comprehension.
• Participants will be able to apply knowledge to use strategies to teach and assess writing.

This workshop is offered at $900 to those districts participating in Universal School Improvement (LS1) Services.

For all other participants, the cost is $1300/person.

Registration cost includes modules and textbook.
