In Fall of 2023, the Department of Public Instruction released a suggested scope and sequence for CIVICS at each level (elementary, middle school, and high school). This professional development session will review this scope and sequence and help educators better understand how to embed CIVICS topics into their current social studies curriculum. The second portion of this training will focus on learning around inquiry practices to support a higher level of depth of knowledge during universal social studies instruction. An opporunity for social studies teachers of all grade levels to network and collaborate around topics relevant to their content will also be provided. This will be a great opportunity for forward thinking around high leverage practices that support students in devloping skills and knowledge around social studies learning priorities K-12.

Lunch is included.
