Spellography (Virtual)

Join us virtually on Friday, December 15th, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. for a three-hour session on Spellography, a word study program for intermediate students.

Spellography This spelling and word-study program for intermediate students teaches spelling concepts explicitly, systematically, cumulatively, and enjoyably. With this structured language approach, students will learn:

• Phoneme awareness and syllable stress patterns (phonology)
• Sound-spelling associations (phoneme-grapheme correspondence)
• Syllable spelling patterns and combinations
• Prefix, root, and suffix constructions (morphology)
• Sentence structure (syntax)
• Parts of speech (nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs)
• Idioms, figures of speech

Audience:

• Teachers in grades 3-6 who currently use the program.
• Teachers who work with students in grades 3-6 and are looking for a structured literacy spelling and word study program that aligns with the science of reading research.
• Title I teachers, Special Ed, ELL

Location: Virtual via Zoom

Cost (if eligible, discount will automatically apply during registration):
          $150 for CESA 9 CSI Members
          $250 for non-CESA 9 CSI Members
