Superior High School

 

Goal:    To develop high school student leaders who show pride in their school, commit to fair play, model ethical behavior, and promote inclusive and anti-racist sportsmanship. 

 

Schedule:      9:00 am Welcome & Icebreaker

9:15:am Keynote Speaker 

10:00 am-10:45 am Breakout Session 1

10:45-11:30 am  Lunch (eat with other schools!!)

11:30 am-12:15 Breakout Session 2

12:20 pm-1:05 pm  Breakout Session 3

1:10 pm-1:40 pm Schools meet to develop a plan for their school

1:45 pm-2:00 pm Wrap-Up/Goodbyes

 

Team Makeup:   6-8 high school students and 1-2 adults per school

Cost:            $300 per school 

                    The cost will cover lunch, a keynote speaker, breakout session facilitators, and a sportsmanship summit t-shirt for                            each student.

Breakout Sessions:  

Breakout #1: Sportsmanship Scenarios  

  • This session will be a facilitated discussion around numerous sportsmanship scenarios and best practices to address them.

Breakout #2: Student Section Behavior 

  • In this session, students will learn about how to be positive leaders to promote student section behavior appropriate for high school sports.

Breakout #3: Officiating and Officials 

  • The role of the official will be discussed to include an officiating perspective and how and why young people can become officials.


Closing:    Teams will develop a Sportsmanship Action Plan to bring back to their schools

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received by the registration deadline date stated on the event for a refund to be issued. Persons registering and not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee (substitutions are accepted). CESA 12 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email or phone if a cancellation occurs.

Weather conditions:

If a workshop has been canceled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs. Please make sure all your contact information is correct on myQuickReg.com
