Best Practices in Early Childhood Assessment, Evaluations and Eligibility

01/18/2023 | 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM | CESA 6 Conference Center

Description:

Have you ever wondered: What should assessment look like in early childhood? What constitutes a high quality special education evaluation for a preschooler? When considering eligibility for our youngest learners, what factors must we consider?

In this full-day in person workshop we will address these questions, as well as:

  • explore how assessment is critical in helping us understand and support young childrens' learning;
  • discuss how evaluations provide information to make critical decisions about how to educate the student so they can access, engage, and make meaningful progress toward meeting age and grade level standards;
  • dig into factors teams must consider when making eligibility decisions for preschoolers.

Who Should Participate?

Anyone who engages in special education assessments or evaluations for preschoolers.

The material covered will be from the lens of preschool special education. We will not be covering universal screening and assessment.
