Overview
Each time teachers prepare a lesson they make decisions about teaching strategies they will use. The intent of this course is to communicate the nature of Cooperative Learning and the procedures for utilizing Cooperative Learning. Teacher will learn how to give clear goal students so students will know expectations. Teacher will understand the necessity of incorporating all five of the basic elements of Cooperative Learning in a lesson. They will understand the teacher’s role in structuring learning situations cooperatively. Teachers will understand why cooperative groups are more productive and how teaching cooperative skills can be done simultaneously with teaching academic material. Teacher will structure and review cooperative lessons in a variety of content areas and discuss the results around student achievement and development of group skills.

Participants will be required to read selected web-based materials and Cooperation in the Classroom by David t. Johnson and Roger t. Johnson in addition creating and sharing Cooperative Learning lessons.

WPS3The pupil services professional has the ability to use research, research methods and knowledge about issues and trends to improve practice in schools and classrooms.

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received by the registration deadline date stated on the event for a refund to be issued. Persons registering and not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee (substitutions are accepted). CESA 12 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email or phone if a cancellation occurs.

Weather conditions:

If a workshop has been canceled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs. Please make sure all your contact information is correct on myQuickReg.com
