As a part of the Education for Employment state statute, all school districts in Wisconsin are required to have a plan on how Academic and Career Planning (ACP) is being implemented for students.  This plan must be updated every year, approved by the school board, posted on the district’s website, and shared with parents and caregivers.

By the end of these sessions, using templates provided by your facilitator, you will have:

  • An ACP Plan for your district the fulfills the requirements of the law and DPI administrative rule
  • An executive brief and a slide deck presentation of your plan ready to share with your board of directors for approval
  • Content that is ready to be uploaded to your district’s website and shared with parents and caregivers as well as industry and community partners!

Most importantly, you will have a solid plan on how to ensure your students are ready to make good career and education decisions once they graduate from your district!

Gwen Janke, Director of College and Career Readiness at CESA 10 will be conducting training sessions focusing on 12 specific topics relating to the required aspects of PI-26.  Each one-hour session will cover a separate module.  Districts are encouraged to work on this as a career readiness team.  Each module will be presented in a “Lunch and Learn” session and districts can determine who should be participating each month, based on the various topics.

A full-day training session will also be held at CESA 10 in April, allowing districts to further dive into the modules and work as a team on their ACP plan and PI-26 compliance.  A final session will be held in May, with the focus on best practices to present your district ACP plan to community stakeholders.  During this session, participants will have time to work in district career readiness teams to create their presentation.
