Library Media Specialist Network 2023-24

Join us for quarterly in-person sessions designed specifically to meet the needs of school library media specialists. Each session will include updates and resources from our WI DPI school library consultant, Monica Treptow. This will be followed by a topic of focus, such as intellectual freedom, AI and the library program, library planning, library instruction scope and sequence building, and whatever else we collectively decide is a priority this school year. Ample time will also be provided for valuable in-person networking, along with collaboration within and across districts. October, December, and April sessions finish at noon with optional afternoon time and space reserved for independent dedicated planning. CESA 2 consultant support will be available as needed in the afternoons. The February session will be a full day and include a school library Ed Camp.

Cost:  $150 for the initial registrant and $75 for each additional registrant. If you are using the $75 price for additional registrants, please contact the agency assistant.

About the Presenter:

Kim Stieber-White joins CESA 2 with deep knowledge and experience in Social Justice, Technology and Literacy.  Her experience in schools spans urban, suburban, and rural settings and includes classroom English Language Arts, Reading Specialist, Library Media Specialist, Technology Integrator, and Instructional Coach.  Kim is in the process of completing a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis with a focus on Literacy and Equity.  

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a refund if they cancel prior to 3 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Cancellations must either be made on MyQuickReg or by emailing cancel@cesa2.org. Because of our commitment to the presenter and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 3 working days prior to the event or who do not attend the event, will be billed the full fee. CESA 2 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via phone and email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. 

Inclement Weather Policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 2 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been cancelled due to weather conditions.

In-Person Events: Restrictions on our in-person events due to COVID-19 have been lifted. We will be responsive to what's happening within our communities, and guidelines from the CDC and local health agencies for future offerings and will update guidelines when necessary.
