Middle school teachers are invited to bring student groups to attend this hybrid one-day event for women to learn about careers that require creative problem-solving, encourage forward thinking, make a difference in society, and share the future of our world.  Women remain under-represented in the science and engineering workforce with the greatest disparities occuring in engineering, computer science, and the physical sciences.  This workshop aims to recruit more women in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.

While attending the Women in STEM Career Day, participants will learn about career options in STEM fields through exciting demonstrations and will have the opportunity to work in teams while doing hands-on projects.  Participants will also have the opportunity to meet other young women who share their interests while interacting with college students, faculty, and industry professionals from STEM disciplines.  By the end of the day, participants will have discovered potential paths they might explore within the STEM fields.

Learning objectives for this workshop include:

  • Participants will explore various STEM career options.
  • Participants will interact with college students, faculty, and industry professionals from STEM disciplines to gain insights into educational and career pathways.
  • Participants will discover potential paths within the STEM fields that align with personal interests and goals.
