About the Presenter:
Sherrice Perry is an attorney in Boardman Clark’s School Law Practice Group. Sherrice brings unique perspective and insight to the firm’s school law practice, having represented the second-largest public school district in Wisconsin for seven years prior to joining the firm. While working for the Madison Metropolitan School District (“District”), Sherrice first served as the Coordinator of Progressive Discipline, overseeing and ensuring adherence to the student disciplinary plan and practices. Sherrice subsequently served as the Interim Title IX Coordinator, and then, more recently, as the Associate General Counsel with a focus in special education. During her tenure at the District, Sherrice represented the District’s interest in mediations, IEP team meetings, manifestation determination reviews, section 504 team meetings, expulsion hearings, and suspension appeal meetings. Sherrice also provided consultative services in the areas of family law, McKinney Vento matters, ADA, student enrollment matters, and Title IX. In addition to these duties, Sherrice organized numerous student programs, including anti-bullying campaigns and LGBTQIA+ student-support initiatives. Prior to her work with the District, Sherrice served as a criminal prosecutor in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago, IL.
