At this critical time in our nation's history, the need for systems to work efficiently, effectively, and equitably is greater than ever. Although many leaders demonstrate the desire to improve or refine existing systems, there is also an inherent risk of offending stakeholder groups with a wrong word or phrase. This series is designed to help leaders consider fundamental concepts of equity work. While this is not intended to be a comprehensive training, this mini-series will build attendees' understanding of the greater context of equity and how to lead at a time when the word itself is perceived in so many ways. Topics will include: talking about the concepts of equity; identity and bias; power and privilege; and ways policies and practices can support everyone. Sessions will be formatted to provide content knowledge and tools to foster the application of that knowledge.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will learn fundamental concepts related to equity in education.
  • Participants will acquire strategies for introducing and discussing these concepts to staff.
  • Participants will understand ways that data and policies can be used to create more inclusive environments.

CORE Comprehensive Training Subscribers: 20 free participants

Non-member Participants: $200 per person
