Course Description
The instruction of EC children with Cross Cat needs is approached through the candidate's developing a (one) instructional unit that combines the best practices learned in Cross Cat 1, 2, and 3 that can be applied to children who are in the age 3 to grade 3 group. The unit applies practices to children identified in a child find who may be in pre-school, day care or receiving needs-based education at home.
Content presentation for this course identifies the characteristics of the intellectual, behavioral and SLD needs/delays of children aged 3 - 8. The unit construction will display a blend of the multi-modal/sensory strategies that carry a child on a continuum from age 3 into elementary school instruction.
