Course Description
Classroom management is a very hands-on course designed to fit the needs of individual teachers. The content is grounded in the works of Jim Fay & David Funk, Harry Wong, and William Glasser along with the classroom management work from the RtI Center and de-escalation techniques from NVCI. As the works of these authors is presented, teachers are asked to relate the content to their teaching experience through written assignments and interactive classroom discussion. This course aims to help teachers provide their students an optimum climate for learning. Participants will build on effective teaching strategies and methods to confidently engage students in successful learning, encourage wise use of class time, reduce negative classroom behavior and support the teacher to effectively respond to student misbehavior.
