Providing Training to Plan and Implement Curriculum that Can Support Students Entering the Job Market with Practical Skills

This workshop is for educators interested, excited, and willing to teach students lessons about cybersecurity. Why cybersecurity? Because of the increased use of digital resources in all facets of our lives, the security of our data has increased exponentially. Our role is to expose students at a young age to data care and security.

We will focus on introductory lessons for schools just getting started and looking to spark student interest in problem-solving, coding, and ethical hacking to protect and care for data. Cybersecurity lessons will be delivered using hands-on (offline), student-centered pedagogical strategies. Resources will be shared for districts to pursue deeper curriculum pursuits, camps, and competitions.

This session will be facilitated by Sabrina Smiley who holds a masters' degree in special education and currently works for TeachCyber, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to developing, supporting, and stewarding excellent cybersecurity education around the country.

Cost: $250, no lunch included

Educators can consider using Title IVa funding to register for this event for the effective use of technology to improve academic achievement and digital literacy.
