This training is for new mentors, especially those who are new to the mentoring role as of the second semester of the school year. Mentoring Essentials serves as foundational mentor training for Beginning Teacher mentors as defined in Wisconsin Administrative Code section PI 34. Wisconsin teacher mentors are licensed educators who are trained to provide support and assistance to beginning teachers. This training provides foundational qualifications to ensure mentors have the understanding, skills, and abilities to provide support.

Mentoring Essentials Outcomes:

  • Explain the role of mentor and elements of a successful mentoring relationship.
  • Explain how quality mentoring and induction support beginning teacher development and retention.
  • Assess beginning teacher needs and plan for timely support.
  • Identify key mentor supports related to the Educator Effectiveness System.

Cost for the series:
If eligible, discount will automatically apply during registration
          FREE for CESA 9 CSI members
          $100 for non-CESA 9 CSI members
