The Academy of Foundational Literacy is a comprehensive, curriculum-neutral professional learning appropriate for all educators who work with early readers and struggling readers. The academy is grounded in the science of reading research and specifically designed to strengthen the capacity of educators to deliver high-quality foundational skills instruction in universal and intervention settings.
Educators in the academy will:
- Secure a research-informed knowledge base for the foundational skills that produce proficient reading
- Implement evidence-aligned instructional practices, including a grounding in structured literacy
- Administer and analyze assessments that measure reading progress and inform the creation of differentiated lesson plans
Audience: PK-3 teachers, Title I reading interventionists, Special Educators, reading specialists, coaches, EL teachers
Location: CESA 9, Tomahawk. In the event of inclement weather, we will go virtual on that day and a Zoom link will be sent via the email address you have on file in myQuickReg.
Series cost* (includes lunch and books):

$600 $300/series for CESA 9 CSI Members
$700 $400/series for non-CESA 9 CSI Members
*The special pricing is due to ESSER III Motion 57 grant funds. Attendance at all 5 sessions is required for you to receive this reduced pricing. If eligible, discount will be applied at the end of the series. Sub Teacher costs due to this training can be covered through the Motion 57 grant funds as well.
