Introduction to Computer Science for Elementary Teachers

March 21, 2023

9:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Computer science is important for elementary students because it helps to develop fundamental problem-solving and critical thinking skills. It also introduces them to technology and how it is used in society, which is increasingly important in today's digital world. Additionally, learning computer science can inspire students to pursue careers in technology and related fields, which are in high demand and offer good job prospects.

This workshop is designed for K-6 educators who have little to no experience in computer science but are looking to integrate CS into their curriculum.  Participants will gain a basic understanding of computer science concepts and learn how to teach them in a fun and engaging way.

During the workshop, participants will learn about:
How to integrate CS into other subjects such as math, science, and social studies
FREE resources and lesson plans for teaching computer science in the classroom
