Introduction to Computer Science for MS/HS Teachers (In-person)

March 22, 2023

9:00 AM - 2:30 PM

CESA #12 Conference Center

Computer science is important for middle and high school students because it provides them with a foundation for understanding and working with technology, which is increasingly prevalent in today's society.  It also helps students develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity skills that are valuable in any field.  CS can open up a wide range of career opportunities in fields such as software development, data analysis, and artificial intelligence.

This workshop is designed for 7-12 educators who have little to no experience in computer science but are looking to integrate CS into their curriculum.  Participants will gain a basic understanding of computer science concepts and learn how to teach them in a fun and engaging way.

During the workshop, participants will learn about:
How to integrate CS into other subjects such as math, science, and social studies
FREE resources and lesson plans for teaching computer science in the classroom

E-MLSS Key Features: High-Quality Instruction, Evidence-Based Practices
