Sharing Session: Pioneers in eBook and eReader Implementation

Three of your CESA #3 Library Media Specialist colleagues: Jennifer Malphy, Kickapoo K-12 LMS Director; Donna Williams-Richter, Fennimore K-12 LMS Director; and Kris McCoy, Mineral Point K-12 LMS Director will share their experiences this far in implementation and management of eBooks, eReaders and other mobil technologies in the library/media center.

We will also provide a hands-on session dealing with how to use Overdrive, the leading full-service digital distributor of eBooks, audiobooks and other digital content. Demonstrations will be provided on E-Readers (iPads, Nooks, Kindlles, and other hand held devices.)

OverDrive usage has increased dramatically since the service began in 2005. Since the addition of ebooks in 2009, it’s really exploded. Come to this informative session to see OverDrive in action as Jean shows you how to check out audiobooks & e-books using a variety of devices including a NOOK, Kindle, mp3 player, and an iPad. Using CESA 3’s iPad lab, you’ll have the opportunity to check out and enjoy an e-book during the program. Be sure to know or have access to your library card number!

Feel free to bring your personal devices and Jean will do her best to answer your OverDrive related questions.

Direct any questions to Terri Iverson, ITSS Director, 608-822-3276 (ext. 237) or tiverson@cesa3.k12.wi.us.

Cost for the day is $25 per person for members of ITSS (Resource Centers) or iTASC and $75 per person for non-members.
