This series will focus on the book Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics K -12: 14 Teaching Practices for Enhancing Learning by Peter Liljedahl. Join the journey of learning how to make your students do more thinking and less mimicking in math class. Learn how to create an environment that is focused on collaboration and student-centered learning where thinking is the norm.

The book breaks the 14 practices into 4 clusters. Each session will focus on a different cluster. The first cluster focuses on student behaviors, the second focuses on teaching practices, the third focuses on creating flow, and the fourth focuses on assessment. Network with other teachers who are interested in implementing these strategies in their classrooms currently. You will leave each session with goals of what to try in your classroom between sessions. We will all share our experiences to brainstorm and learn together.

Google Classroom will be used to share the pacing guide as well as additional resources throughout the series.

Note: Having a copy of the book is a  prerequisite for participating in this workshop. The cost of this workshop includes the cost of the book.
