Your Guide to Literacy Intervention for Multilingual Learners!

Description: The Literacy Club (LC) is an effective approach to instruction and intervention for linguistically diverse K-5 learners who are struggling with literacy in general education or bilingual education classrooms. This step-by-step guide shows English as a second language, bilingual, and classroom teachers and literacy specialists how to implement the LC in their schools. Teachers learn how to set appropriate goals (oracy, literacy, and metacognitive awareness) for language learners, use strategies that accelerate student learning, and continuously monitor student progress. Through detailed descriptions, teachers also see how to adapt the LC for different types of programs.

Participants will be able to try out the learning from session 1 into their classroom and bring back classroom data for session 2. Participants will be able to receive feedback on implementation and plan for their classroom instruction.

Cost: $225
