The role of the school counselor is vital to the health and well-being of students, families, staff, and the entire school system.
This network is designed to provide opportunities for all area counselors to share and collaborate on best practices and also to learn from one another regarding systems and programs supporting our unique CESA 4 communities and schools.
Together we can facilitate high-performing, trauma-sensitive cultures that promote well-being, mental health, adult SEL, community, and student college and career readiness. We look forward to bringing in guest speakers, unique discussions, and collaboration opportunities to grow the capacity of our group!
We hope to see you and learn with you this year!
This year, we'll be collaborating to bolster resilience for our students, staff, systems, and families with a focus on mental health. School Counselors should expect to learn and network on topics such as:
- Disaggregating Mental Health Data to Understand Vulnerable Groups
- Using Mental Health Screeners to make Data-Based Decisions
- Selecting Mental Health Interventions & Monitoring Student Progress
- Implementing Effective SEL Lessons & Programs
- Writing Effective 504 Plans for Mental Health
- Designing Mental Health Presentations for Students, Staff, and Families
- Advocating for Trauma-Sensitive and Equitable Practices
- Supporting Staff Mental Health through Compassion Resilience

Session dates: November 30, 2022, February 1, 2023 (together with School Psych Network), April 19, 2023
Participant Cancellation Policy:
You must contact CESA 4 to cancel attendance one week prior to the scheduled event unless otherwise stated in the individual event details. CESA 4 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 4 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. CESA 4 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot.
Dietary Restrictions:
Because of the number of meals served, number of ingredients used, and food product changes from vendors, we cannot guarantee dietary restrictions as indicated in a user's myQuickReg profile will be accommodated. Participants with dietary restrictions such as food allergies should plan to bring their own refreshments.
Weather Conditions:
If a workshop has been cancelled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. If weather conditions are questionable, please call CESA 4 Voice Mail at (608) 786-4800; Toll Free (800) 514-3075. A message will be posted regarding workshop weather cancellations.
Additional Accommodations:
If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated.
