Autism and Strategies Workshop

This workshop is geared for general education and special education teachers working with children on the autism spectrum. The presentation will focus on a general overview of the autism spectrum, challenging behaviors that might occur as a result and strategies offered that are often found effective with children on the autism spectrum. The presentation will focus on communication, social, emotional regulation and management, and sensory. Participants will leave with concrete ideas, strategies and numerous resources that can readily be applied in the classroom.

Presenters: Dawn Mannebach & Amber Cooper

• Dawn has been a CESA 8 School Psychologist for almost 23 years and Autism Consultant for the past two years. She has a strong interest in Autism and Functional Behavior Assessments. Dawn’s passion is in seeing and bringing forth the essence of the child, being an advocate for their overall well-being while encouraging positive teacher-student relationship building.
  
• Amber has a passion for working with children on the Autism Spectrum and their families. She has been an in-home therapist working with children on the Autism Spectrum for 11 years. Amber also has been working for CESA 8 school districts specifically, working hands-on with the students to demonstrate effective strategies and techniques that can be carried out in all environments.

FEE:  $50.00 per person (member schools)

           $90.00 per person (non-member schools)

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs.
