Social Studies Collaborative Team

The Social Studies Collaboration group will focus on reviewing state standards and any updates to state required mandates as well as take part in a professional book study.

As we have in the past few years, we will complete a book study together using the book, Teach Like a Pirate: Increase Student Engagement, Boost Your Creativity, and Transform Your Life as an Educator, by Dave Burgess. By reading this book, we'll learn how to increase our passion as teachers, develop engaging lessons that draw students in, establish rapport and a sense of camaraderie in our classrooms, and transform our classes into a life-changing experience for our students.

With the knowledge we gain, we can add to our teacher toolbox and begin to put into practice new strategies for teaching Social Studies.

Learning Outcomes:

• Participants will create and establish professional relationships with other educators in their field.
• Participants will contribute and consider the contribution of others to the collaborative team.
• Participants will work around a common goal with other participants for the collaboration of the team.

This workshop is offered at no additional cost to CESA 10 districts.
