Creating a Systemic Plan to Review High-Quality Literacy Instructional Materials for Impact in the Classroom


Personalized guidance and support for your school district

The CESA 6 Literacy Center will guide and support school district teams through a structured process to review curriculum resources ensuring high-impact literacy instruction in all classrooms.


Facilitated by:

Dianna Kresovic, CESA 6 Literacy Center Director & Literacy Consultant

Dianna has 13 years of combined experience in the roles of Director of Teaching and Learning and Elementary School Principal for school districts in Wisconsin.


District teams will:

  • Build a strong process for review of literacy curriculum materials
  • Engage in a supported curriculum review process to choose high-quality literacy instructional materials


SERVICE STRUCTURE

1. Virtual starter session:

  • October 20, 2022  I  8:30 – 11:30 a.m.
    • Process overview
    • Things to consider
    • Timeline
    • Template documents

2.  Qty. 2, two-hour virtual sessions:

  • The first virtual session will follow closely after the starter session. (Date TBD by district)
    • Coaching around templates
    • Process specific to your district
    • Developing the school district team
  • The second session will be scheduled midway through the curriculum review process.
    • Problem-solving
    • Continued planning
    • Q&A

  • Directors of Curriculum and Instruction
  • K-12 Principals or Content Directors
  • Literacy Coaches

COST

  • $5,625 for CESA 6 school districts
  • $6,075 for Non-CESA 6 school districts


ADD-ON SERVICES

#1. A facilitated session for research, beliefs, and high-quality materials indicators

#2. Facilitation of a process to review and collect feedback about resources (can include site visits, setting up pilot programs, and consensus building for decision making)

#3. Facilitation of implementation plan, communication plan, and planning for School Board review

#4. Additional days can be scheduled for personalized district goals and deliverables

 

Add-On Service Costs:

  • $2,500 per add-on session for CESA 6 school districts
  • $2,700 per add-on session for Non-CESA 6 school districts (plus travel expenses for in-district sessions)

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
