Corrective Reading is an evidence-aligned, research-validated reading intervention for students in grades 3-12 who are reading well below grade level. It is an accelerated remedial reading program designed to address both the academic and social-emotional issues faced by older students who are struggling to learn to read. There are 4 levels to the Decoding strand of Corrective Reading, A, B1, B2, and C. Each of these levels includes targeted word work; story reading for accuracy, fluency, and comprehension; and guided workbook activities that require students to remember and apply taught concepts. A program-specific placement test determines which level is most appropriate for a student.

This highly interactive session will prepare you to teach all 4 levels.

AUDIENCE: ELA teachers (3-8), Special Education teachers (3-12), reading specialists, interventionists, EL teachers, and paraprofessionals.
