What is Quality Matters and this Professional Learning Experience All About?

Introduction to Quality Matters (INTRO2QM) is a lightly facilitated 2 week course that takes roughly 6 hours to complete. The course serves as a light introduction to Quality Matters and the K-12 Quality Matters Rubric. The Quality Matters (QM) organization promotes a faculty-centered, peer review process designed to certify the quality of online and blended course design based on national standards. INTRO2QM is a great introductory course to digital course design standards for those with limited available professional development time. Folks can sign up individually or as a team.

INTRO2QM is a 6 module course:

  • Module 1: Getting Started

  • Module 2: QM Overview

  • Module 3: Why QM

  • Module 4: QM Rubrics

    • Dive into the K-12 and K-12/Publisher Quality Matters Rubric Specific Review Standard 7.1: The course instructions articulate or link to a clear description of the technical support offered and how to obtain it.

    • Participants review the standard and make a QM decision of Met or Not Met from the lens of a K-12 student.

    • Participants receive an example of how Quality Matters Course Reviewers provide evidence-based QM feedback and course design suggestions to improve SRS 7.1 for the end user student experience.

  • Module 5: QM Course Review Types

  • Module 6: Reflect and Plan

INTRO2QM participants receive a broad overview of the organization’s 5 rubrics. INTRO2QM can be completed at any time over the two provided weeks. Participants earn an INTRO2QM certificate upon course completion. Review the syllabus and the schedule for the course, as seen below. Please make sure that your schedule aligns with the course work before registering for this event.

This course is limited to the first 30 people registered and $79 payment is received. Registration deadline is Noon (CT) on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

**Please note that the full K12 Annotated Rubric is not available through this course. The full K12/K12 Publisher Rubric is available in the 3-week Applying the QM K-12 Rubric (K12 APP) Workshop: November 1-22, 2022.
