Virtual BootCamp: New Special Education Teacher Series

The first two sessions of this Boot Camp series will be virtual learning experiences for participants.  A ZOOM link will be sent prior to the session to those who are registered.  Participants will give feedback in a survey format to plan forward for face-to-face and virtual options for Sessions 3 & 4 to be held in October - December.  If additional support is requested, sessions will be planned for Winter/Spring 2023.

Cost: $25/virtual session for PDSESS members    $50/virtual session for non-PDSESS members                                                                        *Participants will be billed if they registered and do not attend*

Focus of sessions: 

• Unpacking IEPs: Case Management 101
• Setting the Stage - Supporting Students with IEPs
• IEPs: Plans, Data and more Data
• Accommodations & Modifications - Supporting Students in Gen Ed & Spec Ed

NOTE: Topics may shift/change based on the needs of the group of participants that have registered for the dates.  It is recommended that each participant register for every session and attend so that they can have access to all of the PP slides and information.  

Recommended to bring to these 2 sessions are:

• Copies of 2-3 IEPs from assigned caseload
• List of students assigned to the teacher to case manage and write IEPs, complete re-evaluations for and who they are responsible for in terms of communicating to staff about and communicating with parents about student progress/needs

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee.
