Make the Language of Math Visible

Description: Teachers can make the language of math visible to students through the integration of the ELD standards to the math standards. Educators can do this when they know how to determine the purpose, the language functions, and features in a unit of study to reveal expert language. In this session, participants will practice how to uncover this language within a math unit in Bridges. Participants will determine the Math ELD KLU that must be integrated, instructed and assessed for the unit standards and assessment. They will also practice identifying the unit-specific language functions and unit-specific language features.

Cost: $27 for Title III consortium members, $30 for non-consortium
