New Teacher Support Seminar Series

PI 34 requires that districts provide ongoing orientation to beginning teachers. To assist districts with meeting this requirement, CESA 8 is proud to host this 4-part New Teacher Support Seminar Series.  The content and sequence of the sessions will focus on how to plan and navigate the 2022-23 school year as a new teacher and corresponds with milestone events within the school year and related professional practice components and standards.

Seminar 1: Establishing Communication Practices & Relationships that Engage   
Wednesday, September 21, 2022 4:00-6:00 

This seminar will focus on strategies to develop relationships with students, families and colleagues and connect to the “why’s” that create an effective classroom..

Seminar 2:  Developing a Well Managed Classroom 
Wednesday, October 12, 2022 4:00-6:00 

This seminar will focus on developing key strategies & practices that create and support a well managed classroom.

Seminar 3: Building Effective Instructional and Strategic Assessment Practices
Wednesday, November 16, 2022  4:00-6:00

This seminar will focus on strategies to implement effective instructional strategies, explore methods of providing high value feedback and the use of student assessment data to inform instruction.

Seminar 4: Reflecting on Your Educator Practices

This seminar will focus on self assessing your adult practices to improve the way you work and demonstrate growth.

Cost for the 4-part series, $100 CIA Member Districts, $200 all others

CANCELLATION POLICY: Any registration cancellation must be received 7 days prior to the scheduled date to receive a refund or avoid invoicing. CESA 8 will only provide full refund of registration fees depending on individual circumstances. Refunds depend upon the ability of CESA 8 to cancel any financial obligations created by the registration such as meals, materials, etc. Registered participants not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 8 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs.
