Course Description
Bienvenidos. This course is designed to provide participants with an overview of English language development methodologies. Students will examine and analyze factors that affect the achievement of language minority students in the United States. Educators will examine how to promote and guide systematic, explicit, and sustained language development. We will explore how collaboration and co-planning will allow educators to plan for content and language integration in culturally and linguistically sustaining ways. Educators will assess and monitor multilingual learners’ language growth and use assessments to drive their instruction, create scaffolds, and differentiate to meet the needs of the students.
