Year One Initial Educators Support Seminar Series (In-Person)

A series of four virtual support seminars designed to assist districts in meeting the PI 34.040 [5] district requirement of ongoing orientation. Meetings are held quarterly throughout the 2022-23 school year. These initial Educator Seminars provide professional development, an opportunity for discussion, and a community of practice amongst beginning teachers throughout the CESA #12 region. Each meeting is tailored to the needs of beginning teachers. Seminars feature an overview of the Wisconsin teaching standards with practical and evidence-based strategies for classroom management, student engagement, assessment, feedback, and family partnership.

 

Support Seminar #4:  Reflective Practice - Completing the SLO

Within Wisconsin’s Educator Effectiveness System, all educators are responsible for goal setting and collecting evidence of their own professional growth as educators. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss various artifacts as evidence for each of the Danielson domains and Stronge educator performance standards.

Additional topics for this seminar will be: 

  • Self-reflection 

  • Compassion resilience

  • Ending the school year on a positive note

Registration Fee: $35.00 per person (cost recovery for food)

**Substitute pay and mileage will be covered by the Peer Review and Mentor Grant

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received by the registration deadline date stated on the event for a refund to be issued. Persons registering and not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee (substitutions are accepted). CESA 12 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email or phone if a cancellation occurs.

Weather conditions:
