Course Description
Participants will receive an overview of the effective communicative and collaborative roles of a multidisciplinary approach to supporting children with exceptionalities in the learning environment, as well as in a diverse society. Various topics will be covered such as social emotional learning, classroom management, inclusion, and collaboration with regular education teachers, related service providers, personnel from community agencies, paraprofessionals, and parents in a culturally-responsive way to address the needs of individuals with exceptionalities across a range of learning experiences. Also to be discussed are common environmental and personal barriers which tend to hinder accessibility and acceptance of students with disabilities.
