Join us for CESA 3's Annual Young Author Event!  Authors Rick Chrustowski, Tim Fox, and Nikki Cooper will be joining us for the day as students become authors in the making.  Students will get a chance to work with all 3 authors in hands-on workhshops throughout the morning.

Tighten it up! Tips to Tighten Up Your Writing from a Bald Guy, a Cat, and Two Very Successful Authors

 

Wisconsin author, Tim Fox, shares his own writing journey, along with the wisdom of two very successful authors. Students will then dive into some hands-on activities that will help in “tightening up” their own writing.

 

Students should bring paper and pen, along with plenty of questions!

WRITE A GREAT STORY (In Just 8 Pages)

 

Name three things you have always wanted to do, but haven’t done yet. The one that is the most exciting will be the motivation for your main character in this fast-paced writing workshop.

 

I’ll show you how to write an awesome story in just 8 pages. We’ll discuss ways to pump up the conflict, how dark moments can lead to triumph, and we’ll talk about why you want to have a  chill page at the end of your story.

Everyone has a Story!

Nikki will share her journey of becoming an author and illustrator.  She will also share what it is like to take another author's words and create characters and illustrations to make a story come to life. In this workshop you may try our hand at creating a character or writing your own tale. This is your chance to brainstorm and create! Paper, art supplies and writing prompts will be provided, so just bring your questions, ideas and imagination! 
Participant Cancellation Policy: You must contact CESA #3 at least one week prior to the scheduled event to cancel and receive a full refund of your registration fee. Cancellations not received at least one week prior to the registered event will be charged the full registration fee. CESA #3 reserves the right to cancel any workshop due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by e-mail or phone if a workshop is cancelled. If a participant is a 'no show' the school will be billed for the registration fee, or loss of the 'free' attendance slot. Accommodations: If you need an accommodation to participate including interpreter services (sign language or other spoken language) please email the workshop contact to set up these services. A two-week notice is appreciated. CESA #3 is handicapped accessible.
