BETTER CONVERSATIONS [OCTOBER 6]

Think about how many times you’ve walked away from school conversations, sensing they could be more productive, but at a loss for how to improve them. Our schools are only as good as the conversations within them. In this workshop, participants will examine ways to adopt the habits essential to transforming the quality of their dialogues. We will use research based tools to help us reflect and think deeply about listening with empathy, asking better questions and building trust.

DR. MARCIA REYNOLDS, PSYD, MASTER CERTIFIED COACH

WORKING INSIDE THE DISCOMFORT ZONE: TURNING DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS INTO POSITIVE RESULTS [DECEMBER 6]

Whether you are in the role of teacher, leader, coach, or parent, it isn’t always easy getting people to change their minds. Because these conversations feel uncomfortable, most people avoid them. This workshop will give you both the essential tools for using reflective inquiry and for regulating your emotions in the process. Difficult conversations can lead to the most memorable moments in our lives.

JOELLEN KILLION, SENIOR ADVISOR TO LEARNING FORWARD

COACHING LIGHT TO COACHING HEAVY [FEBRUARY 16]

Change is hard. Coaches who have strong partnerships and trusting, productive relationships with their clients, grounded in solid partnership agreements, can help their clients push through the pain of change to achieve their best selves and exceptional practice. In this session, coaches will explore how to strengthen their partnership agreements, build the trust necessary for deep change, and address the not-yet readiness some clients manifest. Coaches will also examine how to move from coaching light where relationship building is a priority to coaching heavy in which deep change in practice and student results occurs.

KATE ADAMETZ, CERTIFIED DARE TO LEAD TM FACILITATOR, CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL COACH (ICF)

CULTIVATING MEANINGFUL CONNECTION [APRIL 26]

True connection is about meeting people where they are and accepting them as they are. It happens when people feel seen, heard, and valued without having to hustle for worth. This session will explore what gets in the way of connection and the personal practices that forge it based on the work of Brené Brown.
