These three EL networking sessions will focus on the needs of our English Language learners and the teachers who support them. The agenda will vary by time of year, but topics include details about Title III and allowable expenses, testing information, identifying students’ needs, high-impact instructional strategies, and ways to connect and support families.
All sessions are stand-alone and include materials (lunch is also included for in-person events). You will be provided with the Zoom link for each session you register for.
**Members are encouraged to sign up for all three events.**
Session 1 - Sept 21, 2022:
In-person and Virtual
Title III Details: Funds, Language Instruction Educational Programs (LIEP), Connecting with Families, Assessment information - planning for the ACCESS, and Instructional Strategies.
Session 2 - Feb. 15, 2023:
Virtual
Instructional Strategies for Paras and teachers, including virtual learning strategies and how to provide effective online feedback, and accommodations.
Session 3 - May 10, 2023:
In-person and Virtual
DPI Handbook, planning for summer and next year, follow-up on the ACCESS test, and interpreting scores for instruction and exiting students.
These sessions will be co-lead by Amy McGovern, CESA 9’s Title III Coordinator, and Dr. Brook Goralski-Cumbajin, CESA 2's Language & Culture Consultant.
