Unlocking English Learners′ Potential: Strategies for Making Content Accessible Book Study
Three-Session Series
English Learners (ELs) are the fastest-growing segment of the K–12 population.
You're invited to this virtual book study of the text: Unlocking English Learners' Potential: Strategies for Making Content Accessible by Diane Staehr Fenner and Sydney Snyder. We'll uncover how to meet the needs of the English Learner through this toolbox of strategies, examples, templates, and activities.
Reading this book, you'll learn how to:
• scaffold instruction across content and grade levels
• build background knowledge
• analyze text through close reading and text-dependent questions
• promote oral language and vocabulary
• evaluate and use formative assessment
Participants will have the opportunity to network with others on how to best apply this learning in the classroom to meet the needs of all learners.
