Writing Anchor Standard #1 in the new 2022 Wisconsin Standards for English Language Arts states: Compose reflective, formal, and creative writing, which may happen simultaneously or independently, for a variety of high-stakes and low-stakes purposes.  Reader’s Notebooks are an excellent tool to use in the classroom to address the Writing standards as well as standards in the strands of Reading, Language, and Speaking and Listening.  Participants in this workshop will learn about the purpose and power of Reader’s Notebooks as well as practical strategies for effective implementation in the classroom.
