There is great diversity among learners in every school.  The educational community has a responsibility to provide rigorous learning opportunities for each learner. Teaching the gifted needs of children is both exciting and challenging. Teachers must have the skills to differentiate or plan their instruction to provide the opportunity for every student to learn every day. This collaborative is for educators to work together around equitable identification tools, program planning, classroom strategies, and resources that can support teachers and parents in their quest to meet the gifted/talented needs of students.

OBJECTIVES:

• Review and update the district gifted/talented plan using the NAGC Gifted Programming Standards as a guide 

• Explore and evaluate processes for identifying the unique gifts and talents of students that are equitable for the diverse student population

• Collaboratively network and learn together

• Use research to guide analysis of programs, opportunities, and resources connected to core curriculum for gifted/talented students 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

Educators responsible for GT program planning, identifying student needs in the areas of giftedness, and providing learning opportunities to meet identified needs of students

(This may include: Gifted and Talented Coordinators, Teachers, School Psychologists, Administrators)

REGISTRATION:

• ESEA/ESSA & WISEgrants Guidance Consortium member districts:

  • One complimentary participant

  • Additional participants $300 each

• Non-ESEA/ESSA & WISEgrants Guidance Consortium member districts:

  • $575 for one person

  • Additional participants $325 each

(Fee includes access to an LMS for networking and resource collaboration)

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received at least 8 business days before event in order for a full conference fee refund to be issued (full refunds do not include service fees. Service fees are nonrefundable).Registration cancellations received 1-7 business days before an event, a refund, minus $50 for each participant, will be issued. Persons who are registered, but not in attendance on the day of the session ("no call, no show") will be charged the full registration fee. CESA 6 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email if a cancellation occurs.
