This will be a three part virtual series around the 2021 Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics.

 

Session 1: Introduction to WI 2021 Standards for Mathematics

The first session provides an introduction to the WI revised Mathematics Vision, an overview of the 5 Shifts as an approach to mathematics standards (including Appendix 3), as well as a high-level walk through of the features & organization of Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics, 2021.

 

Session 2: High-level Changes in the Standards: Part 1 (Grades K-8)

This session provides a look at kindergarten through grade 8, high-level changes in the standards. We will also reflect on the 5 shifts as they relate to the K-8 revisions and educational equity. An introduction to Appendix 4: Mathematical Modeling as well as the 2010 to 2021 Wisconsin Standards for Mathematics Comparison, K-8 documents are included.

 

Session 3: High-level Changes in the Standards: Part 2 (High School)

Participants should plan to attend the first session and at least one of the other two sessions. Participants are welcome to attend all three sessions.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain an understanding of the 2021 Shifts and organization of the standards.
  • Familiarize yourself with the general changes and revisions in 5K through Grade 8.
  • Familiarize yourself with the general changes and revisions in high school.

 

This workshop is offered at no additional cost to those districts participating in Universal School Improvement Services (Discount will be automatically applied.) including: Abbotsford, Augusta, Bloomer, Bruce, Chippewa Falls, Colby, Eleva-Strum, Flambeau, Gilman, Gilmanton, Granton, Greenwood, Ladysmith, Lake Holcombe, Loyal, Mondovi, Neillsville, New Auburn, Osseo-Fairchild, Owen-Withee, Spencer, and Thorp.

The cost for all other participants will be $500 per workshop
