National School Counseling Week Breakfast

Counselors, please join us for a morning of connection, learning, and celebration of our profession during National School Counseling Week! With the conference no longer being held in February, this is our mid-year opportunity to gather and re-energize!

While you advocate for your programs in schools, we are here to celebrate you!

Schedule

7:30 - 8:30 am Social Breakfast

   Enjoy breakfast while networking and connecting with other regional Wisconsin School Counselors and Wisconsin School Administrators.

8:30 - 10:15 am - Presentations

   Presentations will begin with a WSCA welcome, followed by scholarship recognitions and our Keynote speaker Derek Francis.

10:15 - 11:00 am - Optional counselor Networking

   Counselors will be able to connect with other colleagues around their region.
 

Keynote Speaker:

Derek Francis

Derek Francis is a passionate school counselor with years of experience focusing on a proactive, equity-based approach. He currently serves as the Manager of Counseling Services for Minneapolis Public Schools. Derek specializes in helping students and staff build trusting, cross-cultural relationships and has presented at conferences throughout the country including American School Counselor Association, Minnesota School Counselors Association, Texas School Counselor Association, and Wisconsin School Counselor Association. Recently, Derek led a webinar for over 20,000 counselors and educators on “Proactive School Counseling After a Major Racial Incident.” Some of Derek’s published work includes contributions to “Contemporary Case Studies in School Counseling,” blog “This Is Not A Fire Drill– Supporting Students After George Floyd,” and July/August articles for the American School Counselor Association and American School Board Journal.

Cancellation Policy:

Any registration cancellation must be received by the registration deadline date stated on the event for a refund to be issued. Persons registering and not in attendance on the day of the session will be charged the full registration fee (substitutions are accepted). CESA 12 reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment. Participants will be notified by email or phone if a cancellation occurs.

Weather conditions:

If a workshop has been canceled due to weather conditions, every effort will be made to reschedule the workshop. Participants will be notified via email through myQuickReg.com if a cancellation occurs. Please make sure all your contact information is correct on myQuickReg.com
