Implementation of Math Running Record interviews in districts play a key part in educating all staff on important facets of early numeracy as well as provides data that allows us to meet the diverse needs of our students. Through this journey, the math culture of districts where Ann Elise consults have been transformed!

In a series of videos, Ann Elise will share how the Math Running Record provides data on all 4 facets of fact fluency: flexibility, efficiency, accuracy, & automaticity for all 4 operations. Based on 10 years of research by Dr. Nicki Newton, Math Running Records lay out a researched-based progression of fact fluency development.

In addition to the series of videos, there will be a live follow-up Q&A session with Ann Elise.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will learn how to administer running records.
  • Participants will learn how to analyze the students' thinking to allow for both whole group & small group instructional responses.
  • Participants will learn about a variety of concrete, pictorial, & abstract explorations of strategies that set a foundation of flexible thinking & build number sense not only with basic facts, but future computation work as well.
