Help create a school or district-wide incident response team for data security incidents

This free workshop will help District and School IT Leaders plan and prepare for possible CyberAttacks and Ransomware events. Possible incident scenarios will be discussed along with various steps for dealing with a data breach. Presenters will provide resources to perform a risk assessment and to help prevent hackers from infiltrating your educational network. Various methods to ensure data privacy will be reviewed. Participants will share ideas for District Policies around Incident Reporting and Recovery. Methods for instituting Multi-Factor Authorization will be examined. Lunch will be provided.

About the Presenters:

Ryan Cloutier is the President of SecurityStudio, he is an experienced IT/Cyber Security professional with over 15 years of experience developing Cyber Security programs for Fortune 500 organizations. He is a virtual Chief Information Security Officer for K12 districts across the country and is Certified Information Systems Security Professional CISSP® and is proficient in cloud security, Dev-Ops, and Sec-Ops methodologies, security policy, process, audit, compliance, network security, and application security architecture. Ryan also co-hosts a weekly security podcast and is included on the top 100 most influential people in cybersecurity.

 

 

 

Lyle Dadian is the Director of Instructional Technology at ClassLink. Lyle Dadian is a former secondary history educator who left the classroom to pursue his passion for education technology.  With 20 years of consultative sales experience in K12 ed-tech, Lyle is entrusted by and viewed as a partner by districts throughout the state of Wisconsin and the Midwest.

 

 

 

 


Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a refund if they cancel prior to 3 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Cancellations must either be made on MyQuickReg or by emailing cancel@cesa2.org. Because of our commitment to the presenter and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 3 working days prior to the event or who do not attend the event, will be billed the full fee. CESA 2 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via phone and email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund. 

Inclement Weather Policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 2 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been cancelled due to weather conditions.

In-Person Events: Restrictions on our in-person events due to COVID-19 have been lifted. We will be responsive to what's happening within our communities, and guidelines from the CDC and local health agencies for future offerings and will update guidelines when necessary.
