Standards-Based Grading for Science K-12: A Science Network Event
Join us for this two-day event to develop a standards-based grading framework for science in grades K-12. Participants will research curriculum, assessment, setting goals and tracking progress, communication and feedback, aligning instruction, and grading and reporting. Participants will have opportunities to begin building a standards-based grading framework in science that aligns with their classroom and district goals.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand and learn how to create and use proficiency scales (rubrics) to clearly frame classroom instruction and assessments for academic success.
- Recognize the various ways teachers, students, and parents can use proficiency scales to achieve learning goals.
- Access rubrics, criteria checklists, example goals, and pacing guides that you can use in concert with proficiency scales to provide valuable, meaningful feedback to students.
- Explore issues such as curriculum, assessment, setting goals and tracking progress, communication and feedback, aligning instruction, and grading and reporting.
Audience: K-12 leaders, science teachers, and instructional coaches. Districts may attend as a team.

$100 for Non-Members

Cancellation Policy: Registered participants will receive a full refund if they cancel before 10 working days before an event, minus any material costs that have already been incurred. Because of our commitment to the trainer and the food vendor, participants who cancel less than 10 working days or do not attend, will be billed the full fee. CESA 5 reserves the right to cancel any event. Registered participants will be notified via email if a cancellation occurs and will receive a full refund.
Inclement weather policy: Every effort will be made to hold an event. CESA 5 will notify participants via email as soon as possible if an event has been canceled due to weather conditions.
